During June 2025, CONCERTO partner Josep Peñuelas (Global Ecology Unit) delivered a series of invited talks at leading Chinese research institutions, presenting scientific insights closely related to his work within the CONCERTO project. The lectures provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge with international research communities and strengthen scientific collaboration on topics central to terrestrial carbon cycle research.

The invited presentations addressed key challenges surrounding carbon sequestration, ecosystem functioning and climate change, reflecting several of the scientific themes explored within CONCERTO.

The lecture series included:

  On the Viability of Alternative Sources of Energy: The Role of Ecosystems

The invited talks reached researchers and representatives of international organisations, contributing to the exchange of knowledge on the future of terrestrial carbon cycle research, ecosystem processes and climate science. They also helped raise the visibility of CONCERTO within the international scientific community by showcasing expertise developed within the project and fostering dialogue with leading research institutions.
