Advancing AI-driven land surface modelling at Barcelona Deep Learning symposium

CONCERTO was represented at the Barcelona Deep Learning symposium, held on 17 December 2025 in Barcelona, Spain, where researchers from academia and industry gathered to discuss the latest advances in deep learning and artificial intelligence across a wide range of scientific disciplines.

During the event, Amirpasha Mozaffari (Barcelona Supercomputing Center, BSC) presented the poster "Historical Reconstruction and Future Projection of Land Surface Boundary Conditions." The research explores the application of machine learning techniques to reconstruct and project land surface boundary conditions, supporting improved representation of land processes in Earth system models. This work closely aligns with CONCERTO's objective of advancing terrestrial carbon cycle modelling through the integration of high-resolution Earth observation data and innovative computational approaches.
